Who We Are
Brentwood is a family-owned company, headquartered in Reading, Pennsylvania, USA. We’ve been in business since 1965 and under the leadership of the Rye family since 1975.
Now in our third generation of Rye family leadership, Brentwood remains focused on one thing: helping people. We aim to do this with our products and services and through giving back to our communities.
What We Do
We are experts in plastics manufacturing. Since many products can be made from plastic, Brentwood serves a variety of industries and end users. Here are Brentwood’s key areas of focus:
Cooling Tower
Believe it or not, cooling towers are all around us. They’re used for comfort cooling (air conditioning) at places like hospitals, schools, and shopping centers. And they also have industrial uses for things like power generation, chemical refining, and food processing.
What we make: The highly engineered parts that go inside the tower, designed to improve cooling capacity and keep the tower running efficiently.
Mass Transfer
One process where mass transfer takes place is in a coal-fired power plant. The coal is burned with ambient air to produce power but has the negative effect of creating a gas with high concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2). Luckily, this CO2 can be captured prior to being released into the environment via a scrubber or stripper gas treatment unit.
What we make: The parts that “scrub out”, or remove, CO2 and other compounds before they are released into the atmosphere. Where possible, those compounds are repurposed to create something good. For example, CO2 can be used to make things like fuel, diamonds, and alcohol.
Water & Wastewater Treatment
When you flush the toilet or take a shower, that water is pumped to your local water and wastewater treatment plant facility. This is where the water gets cleaned before it returns to you again when you turn on a faucet.
What we make: Systems for primary and secondary treatment that remove solids and use biological organisms to separate pollutants from the water.
Stormwater Management
When it rains, the water needs a place to go. Ideally, we want that place to be back into rivers and streams. But we’ve built so many impervious surfaces (roads, sidewalks, etc.) that the water can’t always get where it needs to go. And if it can get there, it’s collecting a bunch of litter and debris along the way.
What we make: Products that collect and route the rainwater runoff appropriately, avoiding flooding and pollution.
Healthcare Packaging
Packaging is needed for many medical instruments and devices to ensure they are protected from the point of manufacture all the way to operating rooms and medical offices. Not only does this ensure the device will function as expected but keeps the patient safe.
What we make: Packaging that is precisely designed by in-house engineers to protect the device and make sure it’s still easy to remove from the packaging when it needs to be used.
Battery Wrap & Components
Motive power batteries are most often used in manufacturing facilities to power equipment like forklifts, pallet jacks, and stackers.
What we make: Components that go inside the industrial batteries to ensure reliable performance and durability, ensuring the job gets done
Building & Construction
Building professionals need the right tools for the job, whether they’re constructing an entire development or working on a single-home landscape project.
What we make: 1) The highest-quality wheelbarrow on the market that can help you haul anything, from concrete to mulch, and 2) AccuVent ventilation systems, which are installed in your attic to ensure your home maintains proper airflow.
Where We’re Located
Brentwood operates in the United States and around the world. We’ve shipped products to customers in all 50 U.S. states and nearly 100 different countries. It is our intent to provide you with local resources and support, no matter the location or time zone.
Our Roots
Brentwood Plastics, Inc., now Brentwood Industries, Inc., was founded in Reading, Pennsylvania, on August 25, 1965. Operating out of a small, rented facility, our plastics manufacturing shop was full of small, custom jobs. We had two homemade thermoformers and about a half dozen employees.
